Title: Protective Effects of XinnaotongOral Liquid on Global Cerebral Ischemia Reperfusion Injury
Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of Xinnaotong Oral Liquid on global cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury in rats and its mechanism.Methods The global cerebral isehemia/perfusion experiment induced by occlusion of four vessels for 10 min and reperfusion for 24 h was performed to observe the effect of Xinnaotong Oral Liquid on the recovery time of righting reflex and electrical activity of the brain,the water content and cerebral index,the activity of superoxide dismutase,lactate dehydrogenase and the content of maleic dialdehyde in brain tissue.Results Compared with model group,Xinnaotong Oral Liquid significantly promoted the recovery of electroencephalogram and righting reflex and reduced the brain edema and brain index obviously.Superoxide dismutase,lactate dehydrogenase activities increased while maleic dialdehyde content decreased in brain homogenate in rats treated by Xinnaotong Oral Liquid.Conclusion Xinnaotong Oral Liquid has protective effect on global cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury in rats.The role of antioxidation may be attributed to its neuroprotective effects.
