Title: Petrological characteristics of volcanic rocks of Baiyingaolao Formation in Diyanmiao,Inner Mongolia
Abstract: Diyanmiao of Inner Mongolia is situated in the Daxinganling-Mongolia orogenic belt between Sino-Korean paleo-plate and Siberia paleo-plate by extensively-distributed Mesozoic continental facies volcanic rocks.Petrographic characteristics and silicate analysis shows that Baiyingaolao Formation is composed of a set of acidic volcanic rocks, the average content of SiO2 is 74.54~77.21%,and all the plots on the TAS diagram are located in the rhyolite area.Volcanic rocks of the Baiyingaolao Formation are dominated by rhyolite, rhyolitic volcanic breccia, rhyolitic vitric crystal tuff containing breccia, tuffaceous sandstone, tuffaceous conglomerate. On the basis of field survey and study of geology, petrography and lithochemistry, these volcanic rocks were originated by partial melting of a source from middle-lower crustal magma.
