Title: GC content determination of four volatile components from Artemisia argyi
Abstract: Objective: To determine the contents of four volatile components(eucalyptol, thujone, camphor and borneol) of Artemisia argyi from different origins.Method: The essential oil of Artemisia argyi from different origins was extracted by steam distillation, and quantitatively determined by GC linked with Agilent HP-5 capillary column(30 m × 0.32 mm × 0.25 μm).The carrier gas was high purity nitrogen at a flow rate of 0.6 mL.min-1.The inlet temperature was 240 ℃,the injection volume was 1.0 μL,and the FID detector temperature was 250 ℃.The column temperature was raised by program: the initial temperature was 50 ℃,raised to 75 ℃ with a rate of 4 ℃.min-1,maintained for 10 min, then raised to 100 ℃ with a rate of 1 ℃.min-1,raised to 150 ℃ with a rate of 8 ℃.min-1,maintained for 2 min, again raised to 165 ℃ with 3 ℃.min-1,maintained 5 min,and the last raised to 250 ℃ with the rate of 8 ℃.min-1,maintained 3 min. Results: The recoveries of eucalyptol, thujone, camphor and borneol were between 95%-103%.All samples contained eucalyptol, camphor and borneol, and some of them contained thujone. Conclusion: The method can contribute to the improvement of Artemisia argyi quality standard by providing scientific data.
