Title: Analysis of mental health of military rescue personnel after wreck in Yantai
Abstract: AIM To explore the mental characteristics of military rescue personnel after wreck by Symptom Checklist 90 (SCL 90) and provide basis for evaluation of their mental health. METHODS Mental health conditions of military rescue personnel after wreck were tested by SCL 90. Statistical indexes were compared with contrasts and SCL 90 norms of military personnel in China. RESULTS Prevalence of mental disorders (SCL 90 total scores≥160, factor scores≥2) in military rescue personnel after wreck was 20.5%. Results showed that mental health of military rescue personnel after wreck in positive symptom number, obsessive compulsive, interpersonal sensitivity, depression, hostility and paranoid ideation were significantly better than those of military norms. The positive number was still significantly lower than that in the normal contrasts. On the contrary, positive symptom distress level and mean of positive item were higher than those in the normal contrasts. CONCLUSION Mental health status of military rescue personnel after wreck is promising.
