Title: Compared study for three methods to place double-lumen endobronchial tubes
Abstract: Objective:To compare the correction of placement of double-lumen endobronchial tubes by using fibroptic bronchoscope, auscultation and suction catheter, auscultation. Methods: Three hundred patients requiring double-lumen endobronchial tubes insertion for thoracic surgery were prospectively studied.after intubation, positions of the tubes were judged by three methods respectively. Results: It was found that tubes were placed satisfactorily after intubation in 64% patients by auscultation, 81% by auscultation and sucker and 100% by fibroptic bronchoscopy. Conclusion: Fibroptic bronchoscopy is a reliable technique for correct position of the double-lumen endobronchial tubes and should be used routinely.
