Abstract: Objective:To study the MRI features of acute liver abscess and to improve the accuracy of the early diagnosis of this disease.Methods:27 cases with acute liver abscess were retrospectively analyzed. All the cases conventionally underwent MRI plain and dynamic contrast-enhanced scanning. In addition,7 cases underwent diffusion-weighted imaging(DWI).Results:There were multiple lesions in 5 cases and single in 22 cases, and in a total of 34 lesions. In MRI findings of all lesions, the direct signs included honeycomb sign or cluster sign(20/34,58.8%),ring sign(11/34,32.4%) and irregular shape(3 / 34,8.8%);the indirect signs included halo sign(13/34,38.2%) and segmental hyperperfusion area around the lesion(20/34,58.8%).7 cases scanned with DWI in this group showed abnormal high signal within the abscess. Conclusion:MRI examination can help accurately reflect the pathological features, and it is very valuable for the early diagnosis and differential diagnosis of acute liver abscess.
