Abstract: Objective:To analyse clinical manifestation of early syphilis and the effect of laboratory diagnosis. Methods:Clinical data of 316 cases of early syphilis in STD clinic from March 2007 to March,2011 were summarized.Results:105 of 316 cases were primary syphilis(33.23%).160 of 316 were secondary syphilis(50.63%),and the appearance rate of dark_red macules at palm and sole sites and condyloma flat were 51.25% and 48.75% respectively. Two laboratory techniques were evaluated in the diagnosis.TRUST as a screening method and TPPA as a confirmation test, which have been widely used at present, gave a relatively low sensitivity(84.8%,68.6% respectively) to primary syphilis. Conclusion:Secondary syphilis is the major clinical type at present. The dark_red macules at palm and sole sites and condyloma flat are important diagnosis clue to secondary syphilis.TRUST titer is relative to course of syphilis and could be used for observing curative effect.
