Abstract:Objective To investigate the value of Tei index measured by tissue Doppler imaging (TDI) in evaluating the right ventricular function of patients with rheumatic heart disease (RHD).Methods 32 patients...Objective To investigate the value of Tei index measured by tissue Doppler imaging (TDI) in evaluating the right ventricular function of patients with rheumatic heart disease (RHD).Methods 32 patients with RHD and 25 healthy volunteers were involved in this study.Some traditional ultrasolic parameters of right heart,time parameters and TDI-derived Tei index were measured and compared.Results 18 cases(group A ) had characteristic echocardiographic appearance of right ventricular dysfunction,while 14 cases(group B) had a normal right cardiac performance.However,the TDI-derived Tei index of group A and B were different significantly compared with the healthy volunteers (P0.01).Conclusion Tei index measured by TDI acquired from tricuspid annular is a sensitive indicator of right ventricular global function.Read More
