Title: 5-Hydroxyl Methyl-Furfural's Effect and Mechanism on Rat with H_2O_2 Induced Hippocampal Neurons Injuries
Abstract: OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect and mechanism of 5-hydroxylmethylfurfural(5-HMF),an active component extracted from Cornus officinalis on rat with hydroperoxide(H2O2)induced hippocampal neurons injures.METHODS Hippocampal neurons of newly born rat were cultured in vivo and were injured by H2O2.LM and EM were used to observe the morphological changes.Different concentration of 5-HMF on cell viability was measured by MTT;the activity of SOD was measured by xanthine oxidase.RESULTS It revealed that 5-HMF improved the morphology of H2O2-treated rat hippocampal neurons by LM and EM.The high and medium dosages of 5-HMF could decrease the activity of LDH,and increase the activity of SOD.CONCLUSION 5-HMF could protect the rat with H2O2 induced hippocampal neurons injures.
