Title: Fiction Viewed from an Ontological Perspective
Abstract: As a late literary style, fiction should be regarded first of all as a way of viewing the world, or a of the world, and then as a genre of narration. The former is prior to the latter. This is the ontology of fiction. In ancient China, fiction emerged as a literary style that contradicted the sense of the world of orthodox styles but was repelled or wooed by them. Imaginative narrative in fiction follows its own course, and the ideas it wants to express take shape in conformity with reason within the narrative framework.
