In his axiology, which belongs to the naturalistic kind, Perry claims that Value and Reality are unified, and value judgment can be corroborated by factual means or rational means. The following is Perry's strategy demonstrating his points: he defines Value by dint of interest, and further defines interest by dint of subject's positive attitude and negative attitude. Perry transfers fact judgment to value judgment by the following way: he explains what is interest by dint of a series of mentation or mental facts. Perry's standpoint, which argues that value and fact are unified, is right, and his scheme, which is used to settle the question of the relation between Value and Reality, is also valuable, but his biggest problem is to revert value to fact (then he simplifies the complicated question). This paper proposes that the question should only be rationally explained on the basis of practice.Read More
