Title: The diagnostic value of plasma tumor M2 pyruvate kinase detection for breast cancer
Abstract: Objective To explore the diagnostic value of plasma tumor M2 pyruvate kinase(Tu M2-PK) for breast cancer. Methods The level of plasma Tu M2-PK in 82 breast cancer patients,20 benign breast tumor patients and 30 healthy controls were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The level of Tu M2-PK in different TNM stages was compared simultaneously. Results The plasma Tu M2-PK level in breast cancer patients was higher than that in benign breast tumor patients and healthy controls(P0.05).There was not difference between benign breast tumor patients and healthy controls.Comparing with different TNM stages, the level of plasma Tu M2-PK in breast cancer patients of stage Ⅲ was higher than stage Ⅰ(P0.05),but the plasma Tu M2-PK level in breast cancer patients of stage Ⅳ was lower than that in stageⅡand Ⅲ(P0.05).The diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, positive likelihood ratio, negative likelihood ratio, positive and negative predictive values were 65.85%,70.00%,2.20,0.49,90.00% and 33.33%,respectively.Conclusions The plasma Tu M2-PK determination is helpful for the diagnosis of breast cancer. It is valuable for the prediction of TNM stage and the infiltration and metastasis of breast cancer.
