Title: Hope of Education: the Education for Scientific Humanism
Abstract: While modern people gain a wealth of materials and great freedom to think, they feel isolated from the nature, the society and the belief as well as the crisis of the value, the culture and the significance. They are thirsty for the peace, the quietness and the genuine humanity so that they ask for the improvement of spiritual life. The mechanic-style technological society leads to the fall of human value and the loss of inherent-life significance as well as the education with over-serving for pragmatism and utilitarianism, which are major reasons for making modern people puzzled. Therefore the human ideal pursuit and the requirement of social development call for a new education: to change from the man-made education into an education for human beings. It is becoming a more and more popular desire for modern people to receive a genuine humanistic education, to regain the value of human self-confidence as well as to pursue a fresh spiritual realm. In a sense, it is the education for scientific humanism that people hope for and that brings a hope to create a new education.
