Title: Fabrication and Tunable Soft Magnetic Properties of M-type Barium Ferrite
Abstract: Co-Zr substituted BaM ferrite particles were prepared by the sol-gel method,the influence of temperature on microstructure and magnetic properties was studied.Phase structure and microscope image of sample were investigated by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy,its static magnetic properties were studied by a vibrating sample magnetometer.It is found that the temperature of heat treatment determine the magnetic properties of M-type barium ferrite in before and after ion doping.Furthermore,coercivity of BaFe9.6Co1.2Zr1.2O19 is only 136 Oe and saturation magnetization is 32 emu/g after heat treatment at 1100 ℃ for 4 h,and coercivity of BaFe10.4Co0.8Zr0.8O19 is 606 Oe,the saturation magnetization is 48 emu/g after heat treatment at 1100 ℃ for 4 h.This wide tailoring of coercivity and saturation magnetization makes more promising applications of BaM ferrite.
