Title: Catalytic synthesis of( R)-propylene carbonate by phthalimide potassium
Abstract: ( R)-1,2-Propylene carbonate was synthesized from urea and( R)-1,2-propanediol as raw materials and phthalimide potassium as catalyst. The effects of the molar ratio of urea and( R)-1,2-propanediol,reaction time,and catalyst dosage on the yield were investigated. The result showed that the optimum conditions were as follows: 1. 0 mol( R)-1,2-propanediol,n(( R)-1,2-propanediol) ∶ n( dimethyl carbonate) = 1. 0 ∶ 2. 0( mol / mol),the amount of catalyst 1. 0%,reaction time is 2. 0 h. Under above reaction conditions,the product yield up to 96. 3%.
