Title: Fresnel diffraction of the limited-size Ronchi grating
Abstract: The intensity distribution of the homochromatic planewave Fresnel diffraction of the limited-size Ronchi grating was deduced based on the transfer function theory.The simulation results show that the generation of the Talbot image of Ronchi grating is influenced by the grating size.Moreover,the grating size should be large enough to achieve the Talbot image in a certain distance and the grating size is determined by the diffraction distance,the size of the observing field and the grating period.In order to get the Talbot image,the x-direction size of the grating should increase markedly when the diffraction distance does.The deviation between the grating and the observing screen in the Talbot distance makes the diffraction image depart from the Talbot image.And this influence will be reduced with the decrease of the grating period.
