Title: The Associative Analysis of Hyperhomocysteinemia and Cerebral Infarction
Abstract: Objective To investigate the relationship between the level of plasma homocysteine and cerebral infarction in patients. Methods The level of plasma homocysteine was tested in 98 cerebral infarction patients and 76 age-matched healthy populations. The risk factor was analyzed with Spearman correlation analysis. Results There was62. 22% cerebral infarction patients suffered from hyperhomocysteinemia, while only 9. 21% healthy group. The level of homocysteinemia in the cerebral infarction group was significantly higher than in healthy group. Spearman correlation analysis showed that hyperhomocysteinemia is a risk factor of cerebral infarction( P 0. 05). Conclusions The level of plasma homocysteineis associated with the occurance of cerebral infarction. Hyperhomocysteinemia is an independent risk factor for cerebral infraction.
