Title: Correlation Analysis of Body Size and Slaughter Performance of Kirin Chicken(Frizzle Chicken) in 14 weeks of age old
Abstract: The experiment was conducted to develop genetic resources and learn about the correlation of main body size and slaughter performance of Frizzle Chicken.Six male and 6 female Frizzle Chicken were randomly selected in 14-weeks old. Then body size and slaughter performance were measured. The result was showed that there were significant differences between male chicken and female chicken of Frizzle chicken in body weight, body slope length, shank length, shank circumference, carcass weight, percentage of slaughter, half-eviscerated weight, breast muscle weight, leg muscle weight, percentage of leg muscle, abdominal fat weight, percentage of abdominal fat, intramuscular fat width and thickness of subcutaneous fat.It was showed a significant positive correlation between body weight with body slope length, fossil bone length, shank length, shank circumference, carcass weight, eviscerated weight, half-eviscerated weight, breast muscle weight and leg muscle weight(P 0.01).There were highly significant negative correlation between body weight with abdominal fat weight and intramuscular fat width(P0.01).Body length, fossil bone length, shank length, shank circumference were each associated with abdominal fat weight, intramuscular fat width, thickness of subcutaneous fat varying degrees of negative correlation, the correlation coefficient was between-0.909and-0.323.while with the other slaughter performance index were varying degrees of positive correlation, the correlation coefficient ranged from 0.368 to 0.872.It is concluded that the test results had positive effect in promoting the breeding, development and utilization of Frizzle Chicken.
