Abstract: The purpose of the paper is to measure productivity growth and types of technical progress in Korea travel agencies. The non-parametric Data Envelopment Analysis approach(DEA) is used to estimate Malmquist productivity indexes. These are decomposed into efficiency change and technical change. Technical change is further decomposed into output biased technical change, input biased technical change, and magnitude of technological change. Empirical results indicate that overall productivity of travel agencies show decreasing pattern and there is trade-off between efficiency change and technical change. Korea travel agencies show the different types of technical progress regardless of productivity change.
