Title: Tu1072 How Many Deaths Does Prophylactic Aspirin Cause? A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Fatal Gastrointestinal Bleeding Due to Aspirin
Abstract: with CDI identified from 2006-13 with 51.1% hospital-acquired, 38.7% communityacquired, 6.2% indeterminate and 4% nursing home acquired. The overall age and sexadjusted CDI incidence was 86.7/100,000 person years (93.5/100,000 in females and 81/ 100,000 in males, p<0.001) and decreased significantly from 95.5/100,000 in 2006-08 to 82.8/100,000 in 2012-13, p<0.001.The age and sex-adjusted hospital-acquired CDI incidence was 45.5/100,000 bed-days from 2006-13 and decreased significantly from 54.2/ 100,000 in 2006-08 to 36.1/100,000 in 2012-13, p=0.05.The age and sex-adjusted community-acquired CDI incidence was 37.7/100,000 person years from 2006-13 and varied from 37.5/100,000 in 2006-08 to 43.8/100,000 in 2012-13, p=0.25.The highest incidence was seen in the elderly: 97.8/100,000 person years (age 60-69), 234.4/100,000 (age 70-79) and 433.8/100,000 (age >80), p<0.0001.Conclusions: In this population-based study the overall incidence of CDI decreased from 2006-13, owing to a decline in the incidence of hospitalacquired CDI.Community-acquired CDI continued to be a major proportion with no significant variation in the incidence.
