Abstract:It was to investigate the effect of dietary glutamine supplementation on activities ofγ-GT in plasma,liver and intestine of early-weaned piglets.Forty piglets weaned at the 21 d of age were randomly a...It was to investigate the effect of dietary glutamine supplementation on activities ofγ-GT in plasma,liver and intestine of early-weaned piglets.Forty piglets weaned at the 21 d of age were randomly assigned to two groups with five replicates of four piglets each.The diet in treatment group contained 1.2% glutamine.The diets were calculated to be isonitrogenous and isoenergetic.Five piglets from each dietary treatment were killed at 35 d and 49 d of age.The activities of γ-GT in plasma,liver and intestine of early-weaned piglets were determined.Dietary glutamine supplementation decreased the activities ofγ-GT in plasma at 35 d of age.In treatment group,the activities of γ-GT in duodenum and ileum were significantly lower than those of control at 35 d of age;The activities of γ-GT in jeju- num were lower than those of control,but no significant differences.There was a decreased trend in activities of γ- GT in intestine at 49 d of age in treated piglets.There was no significant change of the liver protein in two group,but dietary glutamine supplementation decreased markedly γ-GT activities in liver.Dietary glutamine supplementation decreased the activities of γ-GT in plasma,liver and intestine of early-weaned piglets.Read More
