Title: Le point sur le déterminisme du sexe chez les mammifères
Abstract: Le determinisme du sexe est l'ensemble des mecanismes conduisant une gonade indifferenciee a s'engager dans une voie de developpement, soit testiculaire, soit ovarienne. Il s'agit d'une cascade d'evenements tres complexe qui necessite l'interaction de nombreux genes. Le gene SRY (sex determining region, Y chromosome) a ete identifie au TDF (testis determining factor) qui est le signal primaire declenchant la formation du testicule. Grâce a l'analyse de sujets avec une reversion du sexe et de modeles animaux, le role de certains genes dans la determination du sexe a pu etre demontre. Cependant, de nombreuses etapes de cette cascade restent encore inconnues
