Title: A Study on the Trends of National Pavilion Exhibitions in the Venice Biennale of Architecture
Abstract: The purpose of this study is to analyze the trends of national pavilion exhibitions in the Venice Biennale of Architecture from 1996 to 2014. The first international architecture exhibition was held by the Venice Biennale in 1980, and the Golden Lion was instituted for the Architecture Biennale in 1996. It surveyed not only the exhibitions of national pavilions which won the Golden Lion for best National Participant but also those of the Korean Pavilion. This study tried to reveal the tendencies of national pavilion exhibitions in the Venice Biennale of Architecture in terms of exhibitional titles, issues, contents, and display direction.
