{'水辺環境復元のための基礎資料として,復元事業にしばしば利用されるヨシの生育特性及び水ストレス耐性を調査した。北海道十勝地方当縁川流域の様々な生育環境で自生していたヨシを水田及び畑地に植栽したところ,水田よりも畑地において生育が良くなった。また,ヨシの苗をポットに植栽し,水ストレス反応を調べたところ,植栽直後の水ストレスに対しては,湿地由来の系統において急激な生育の抑制がみられるなど,系統間で水ストレス反応が明らかに異なっていた。一方,定着後の水ストレスに対しては,処理間において有意差が認められたものの,系統間においては,総草丈やシュート数などの主要なパラメータでは有意差は認められなかった。以上の結果から,ヨシはそれぞれの生育環境に適応して生育しており,ヨシ原の復元にあたっては,できるだけその地域の環境に適応したヨシを材料として用いるべきであることを示唆している。また,植栽の際には畑地条件のような状態を保つほうがヨシの生育は良いが,植栽直後の乾燥は避けることが重要であることが示唆された。':
