Title: BEYOND AGENCY THEORY: A RESOURCE-BASED EXPLANATION FOR FRANCHISING AND FRANCHISOR PERFORMANCE.

We test our ideas using a survey of 164 franchisors and find that relational strategic assets help explain the propensity to franchise. Both organizational and relational strategic assets also impact performance.
