Panonychus ulmi (Koch). The 1967 treatments were also evaluated for control of the two-spotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch. Morestan® (6-methyl-2,3-quinoxalineclithiol cyclic S, S-dithiocarbonate) gave long-lasting control of P. ulmi. Dicofol, EP-333 (N'-(4-chloro-o-tolyl)-N, N-dimethylformamidine hydrochloride), Lovozal® (phenyl 5,6-dichloro-2-(trifluoromethyl)-1-benzi-Midazolecarboxylate), GS-19851 (isopropyl 4,4'-dibromobenzilate) Azodrin® (3-hydroxy-N-methy1-cis-crotonamide dimethyl phosphate), Bayer 58733 (2,2,2-trichloro-N-(pentachlorophenyl) acetimidoy1 chloride), and 2 petroleum oils also were effective. GS-19851 was the most effective material on T. urticae. Nearly as effective were Morestan, Lovozal, EP-333, and Azodrin. Bayer 58733 caused a rather severe defoliation of the trees, the only phytotoxicity observed.Read More
