Experiments are conducted for vario...The axial heat transfer characteristics of oscillatory flow of water in a channel with a rectangular cross section are investigated experimentally and analytically. Experiments are conducted for various channel aspect ratios and heights, changing the frequency and the stroke of oscillatory flow. A sophisticated numerical simulation technique based on the profile method using the velocity profile for two-dimensional oscillatory Poiseuille flow is proposed to realize a practical way of studying the effects of flow parameters on the heat transfer. Numerical results show good agreements with the experimental results except for high Womersley number flow. The effects of various parameters on the heat transfer enhancement such as the channel aspect ratio, channel height, wall thickness and the wall materials are elucidated.Read More
