Title: Fluorometric determination of 5-hydroxyindole derivatives by high performance liquid chromatography with cobalt(II) chloride, sodium carbonate, and sodium hydroxide.
Abstract: High-performance liquid chromatoghraphic determination of 5-hydroxyindole derivatives was established. The postcolumn derivatization with sodium carbonate-sodium hydroxide-cobalt(II) chloride reagent allowed the determination of pmol level of the substances. This technique was applied to the determination of 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid in human urine.
