Title: Relationship between Parental Child-Rearing Attitudes and Preschoolers' Moral Judgments
Abstract: This study investigated the effects of parental child-rearing attitudes, as measured by the Parent Attitude Research Instrument, on the moral judgments of 35 preschool children. Correlational analyses indicated that maternal democratic control is related to more intention-based moral judgments by the preschool children. Data provide some support for Piaget's notion that parental child-rearing practices aid in the movement to intention-based judgments.
