Title: Immigration and Naturalization Laws: Today's Need for Naturalization Law Reform
Abstract: The immigration and nationality aspects of our law must be con? sidered in juxtaposition to one another. They go hand in hand. One cannot talk about the one without viewing the other. Together, these laws embrace our regard for the alien. The immigration and nationality laws, together, set forth the con? ditions for admission of aliens to our country and then, once they are within the country, the conditions for transition from the status of alien to the status of citizen, through naturalization. Today, the immigration and nationality laws are embodied in the Act of October 3, 1965 (79 Stat. 911). This Act amended the Immigration and Nationality Act (Act of June 27, 1952-66 Stat. 163) and, at long last in our history, eliminated the discrimination therein based upon race and national origins.
