It has been reported that soot is formed under both conditions of high fuel-vapor concentration and low temperature. Also, flame temperature is dependent on OH radical concentration, which has a strong correlation with soot oxidation process. Therefore, it is very useful to investigate the flame temperature for clarification of the process of soot formation and oxidation. On the other hand, the process of soot formation and oxidation needs some more temporal period in comparison with other process of combustion reaction. Therefore, it is required to analyze the process of soot formation and oxidation on the basis upon the understanding of soot behavior occurred in combustion period.In this study, the effect of soot temperature on soot concentration was investigated using the 2-color method. In addition, the general soot behavior was analyzed as a function of the spatial and temporal changes in soot temperature in addition to KL factor using the cross correlation velocimetry.Read More
