{'地球環境変化は,日本の冬季の気候や降積雪状況に対して大きな影響を与えることが予想される.そこで,大循環モデルの数値実験結果である地球環境変化シナリオを元にして,日本での降積雪状況の変動予測を行った.その手法は,月平均気温と月降水量を入力とし,経験的モデルによって月降雪深を予測し,得られた降雪深と気温から統計的に最深積雪と雪質を予測するものである.この手法を用い,時系列的に現在から100年後までの降積雪状況の変動を推定したところ,地域的な特徴が明らかになった.北海道と本州山岳地域では,最深積雪が減少した以外は降積雪状況の変動はあまりなかった.山岳地域を除く東北地方では,降雪深と最深積雪が減少し,乾き雪から湿り雪に変化するという大きな変動が生じた.北陸地方以南の日本海側平野部では,気温上昇によって降雪しなくなり,積雪も生じなくなった.これらの特徴は50年後以降に特に顕著となった.また,3つの他の地球環境変化シナリオからも同じ降積雪状況への移行が予測された.降雪深の年々変動は,東北地方北部と北海道で51~75年後に変動幅が大きくなると予測された.':
