Title: DRYOPTERIS PALEACEA IS A SYNONYM OF D. WALLICHIANA
Abstract: Summary Authorities have disagreed on the correct name for the widespread and common species known variously as Dryopteris paleacea (Swartz or Don) Hand.‐Mazz. or C. Chr. and D. wallichiana (Spreng.) Hyl. Reëxamination of Don's Prodromus Florae Nepalensis forces the conclusion that Alston was correct in using the latter name.
