While there is no realistic prospect for global nuclear disarmament, there is a need to heighten and improve precautions and mechanisms to prevent the use of nuclear weapons or fissile material by terrorists. The rise of extremist religious groups with genocidal or apocalyptic agendas has increased the risk of nuclear terrorism. This article advocates the implementation of several measures and policies to reduce the threat of “rogue” nuclear attacks in South Asia with the support and participation of the International Atomic Energy Agency, the United Nations and the United States of America.Read More
