Title: The Transmembrane Serine Protease Matriptase: Implications for Cellular Biology and Human Diseases
Abstract: Matriptase is a member of type II transmembrane serine proteases (TTSP). Recently, much has been learned about this important membrane-bound serine protease. This review examines the recent literature that has characterized matriptase on the physiological functions, the control of proteolytic activity, and the role in disease development and progression, particularly in cancer.
