Compared to traditional vasectomy, the NSV approach is less invasive, less painful, heals faster, and has fewer complications. In 1988, AVSC pioneered the introduction of NSV in the US. A 1995 study of 1800 family physicians, general surgeons, and urologists found that approximately 494,000 vasectomies were performed by 15,800 physicians in the US in 1995. About 76% of all vasectomies were conducted by urologists, 15% by family physicians, and 9% by general surgeons. It has also been estimated that 29% of all vasectomies performed annually in the US are realized using the NSV technique. AVSC's has been actively involved in providing American and Canadian physicians with training on NSV.Read More
