Title: Utility of Insecticide Additives for managing Helicoverpa armigera on Cotton
Abstract: Five insecticide additives viz., sesame oil (synergist), diflubenzuron (IGR), NPV (biocide), neem oil (repellent) and Parthenium leaf extract (botanical insecticide) were tested for the control of Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner) in combination nith hndosulfan nnd cypermethrin. Sesame oil (0.5%) was found effective in reducing the impact of H. armigera. Diflubenzuron, Helio NPV and neem oil also enhanced the action of insecticides. Treatment with sesame oil as additive gave significandy higher seed cotton yield than the other test additives. The efficacy of this treatment was also confirmed in laboratory screening tests.
