Title: Efficiency of Herbicides Under Different Water Management Practices in Transplanted Rice
Abstract: Field studies conducted during Kharif seasons 1982 and 1983 revealed that continuous submergence (5±2 cm) was more effective in controlling weeds and increasing grain yield whereas, alternate wetting and drying was least effective. Granular formulations were effective in submergence whereas liquid formulations were more effective in rest of the water management practices. All the herbicides irrespectiv» of their formulation were less effective under alternate wetting and drying condition. The highest rice grain yield was obtained from thiobencarb (L & G) under all the water management practices followed by butachlor (L & G).
