Title: Breve estudo de eco-história sobre a utilização humana das florestas estacionais do norte-noroeste entre os períodos colonial e republicano
Abstract: This study aims to examine the relationship between human societies and the native vegetation classified as semideciduous forest located in the northern and the northwestern regions of the State of Rio De Janeiro – Brazil. Thus, the study adopted the most recent typology of native Brazilian vegetation forms, according to the universal classification, and used written and iconographic sources by several authors of the eighteenth century to recover the original aspect of this plant formation, and the gradual process of its suppression by the economy implemented by settlers of European origin.
