Title: Evlauation of fungal antagonists against Fusarium oxysporum F. sp. Pini causing root rot of kail pine
Abstract: Three bioagents viz. Trichoderma viride, Trichoderma harzianum and Gliocladium virens were evaluated in vitro against Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.pini causing root rot of kail pine (Pinus wallichiana) seedlings through dual culture and poisoned food techniques. All the three biocontrol agents signficiantly inhbitied the mycelial growth of the test pathogen as compared to control. Significantly higher mycelial growth inhibition of F. oxysporum f.sp.pini was recorded in case of T. viride (65.33%), followed by T. harzianum (64.0%) and G. virens (52.0%) found least effective in inhibiting the mycelial growth of F. oxysporum f.sp.pini. The culture filtrate of all the test antagonists also significantly inhibited the mycelial growth of F. oxysporum f. sp.pini. over control.
