Title: Efficacy and economics of some insecticides, bio-pesticides and their combinations against shoot borer on okra (Abelmoschus esculentus l. Moench)
Abstract: Endosulfan + b.t. (0.05+0.006%) proved highly effective followed by monocrotophos (0.04%) and acephate + b.t. (0.0375+0.006%) against A. esculentus. Endosulfan (0.05%), acephate (0.0375%) and imidacloprid (0.006%) were moderate in effectiveness. Azadirachtin (5ml/lit.) proved least effective followed by NPV (0.010%) and b.t. (0.012%) alone. the maximum yield of marketable okra fruits (69.15 q/ha) was obtained in the plot treated with endosulfan + b.t. followed by monocrotophos (61.86 q/ha.) and acephate + b.t. (57.08 q/ha.). the maximum avoidable loss was obtained in control and minimum in endosulfan + b.t and monocrotophos. the maximum benefit cost ratio (18.36) was obtained in monocrotophos treated plots followed by endosulfan + B.t and endosulfan alone, whereas, minimum in azadirachtin.
