Title: Salvar la nación: el feminismo doméstico de Soledad Acosta de Samper
Abstract: Soledad Acosta de Samper (1833-1913) believed that the fate of nations was in the hands of women. Only women could secure the moral development of society and instill in their children, the future citizens, the sense of love and duty towards the motherland, values needed to guide the nation on the path of progress and civilization. This essay explores the origin and evolution of her domestic feminism, examines the author’s ideas about women and their duties and her discussion of the need to provide women with a useful education.
