Title: The land of Unlikeness: A post-colonial review of the Anglican covenant
Abstract: The Anglican Church, which began as a separate denomination of the church universal during the English Reformation in the sixteenth century, finds itself in the early years of the twenty-first century once more on the brink of change. Questions of identity have reached crisis point. Provinces continue to be divided by the ordination of women. In 2010 The Episcopal Church (TEC) in the United States of America consecrated a second bishop who is openly living in a same-sex relationship. The Global South has publicly encouraged the provinces of the Anglican Communion to declare themselves out of communion with TEC and the Anglican Church of Canada. The Anglican Communion Covenant is on the table and awaiting response from the provinces.
