Abstract: A primarily developing continent Asia is witnessing robust growth in urbanization. Urbanization has come with several cultural and social disorders. There is a spurt in the cases of AIDS in these countries. This paper will try to find patterns and correlation between urbanization and AIDS cases in the context of Asian countries mainly India, Thailand, Indonesia and China. Urbanization and consequential social divide has played a crucial role in differing patterns of AIDS spread even in the same country. Hitherto, Africa has remained main focus of study of disease but with galloping growth and urbanization, Asia demands a greater attention in formulation and implementation of policies to check AIDS at a relatively lower level. By surveying different policies and their effectiveness, the paper will attempt to show how the unstructured urbanization and prevalence rate of disease are related with each other. The moot problem remains that being a country with richer resources or higher education does not necessarily help in combating the prevalence rate. The structural change at policy level is a must for a sustainable safeguard in an urbanizing socio-spectrum.
