Title: Understanding weed-crop interactions to manage weed problems.
Abstract: This chapter seeks to identify the first principles of weed ecology and biology that relate to weed-crop interactions, and demonstrates how they may be used to assess weed management alternatives, including non-chemical approaches. Weed scientists must develop methods for discovering the first principles and methods to enable the practitioners to efficiently gain an understanding of their site-specific weed biology in order to allow effective decisions about the application of management tools.
