Title: Effect of seed treatment with fungicides and soil application of herbicides on plant growth, nodulation and stem rot disease incidence in groundnut
Abstract: The efficacy of seed treatment with fungicides and soil application of herbicides was tested on root and shoot length, root nodule number and Per cent Disease Incidence (PDI) of stem rot of groundnut caused by Sclerotium rolfsii under field conditions. Seed treatment with mancozeb and soil application of imazethapyr recorded highest root and shoot lengths while seed treatment with captan and soil application of oxyflourfen recorded highest root nodule number at 25 and 45 DAS. Soil application of oxyflourfenalone was found superior in reducing the per cent disease incidence of stem rot (2.66) butoxyflourfen in combination with seed treatment fungicides resulted in an increase in stem rot disease incidence.
