Title: Effect of Phosphorus Application to Forage Sorghum on Yield and Phosphorus Uptake
Abstract: In a potculture study on loamy sand and sandy loam soils having low, medium and high categories of available phosphorus, results of three levels of phosphorus application (0, 20 and 40 ppm P) indicated significant rise in dry matter yield and P uptake of forage sorghum with increasing levels of P at all the three stages of harvest (50, 70 and 90 days). Under low P status of soil, the effect of added phosphorus was more pronounced than where available P was high, irrespective of texture and stages of crop growth.
