Title: Field Evaluation of Various Insecticidal Schedules Against Cotton Bollworms
Abstract: In the field trial conducted on efficacy of various spray schedules involving synthetic pyrethroids and organophosphatic insecticides to control the bollworm complex of cotton (the Gelechiid, Pectinophora gossypiella (Saunders) and Noctuids, Earias vittella (Fabricius), E. insulana (Boisdual) and Helicoverpa armigera Hubner), the alternate sprays of monocrotophos 36 WSC, cypermerthrin 10EC, endosulfan 35 EC and fenvalerate 20 EC at an interval of 15 - 20 days were found most effective which exhibited boll damage of 27.77 and 25.95% and loculi damage of 44.21 and 38.60% in 1992 and 1993, respectively. This spray schedule provided highest seed cotton yield of 1266 Kg/ha, net returns of Rs. 9093.00/ha and BC ratio of 8.06.
