Title: Harvest-Time Residues of Soil Insecticides in French Bean Pods
Abstract: Insecticide schedules involving soil application of granular carbofuran and phorate were evaluated for the buildup and degradation of their residues in french bean pods. Carbofuran and phorate, being highly systemic in nature, translocate from soil through roots of french bean plants and get accumulated in pods. Residues at bioconcentration levels were recorded at 45th day harvest but degraded to their safe limits within 60 days of soil application that can be observed as waiting period from safety point of view.
