Title: Seasonal effect on seed germination of guava under Punjab conditions
Abstract: The studies were conducted on seed germination of the rainy and winter season guava fruit crops. Seeds from the rainy season fruits had more germination potential than winter season crop. Freshly extracted seeds from the rainy season crop gave maxium germination (89 - 92%) during September. The germination percentage declined with the passage of time. Seeds remain viable up to one-and-a-half years. Use of medium-sized fruits from the rainy season guava crop is recommended for the production of rootstock seedlings commercially.
